Don't Overlook the Small Stuff.

Mid-October on the Dakota Prairie has seen the extremes of a snowstorm in 1996 and health-threatening ninety degree heat in 2003. December hunting records a weather history almost as contrasting.

We encourage you to be well prepared with proper clothing. Sun, rain, snow, heat, and cold - we will be hunting.

Dress in layers with moisture wicking synthetics and/or wool. Wind and rain is conquered with outer clothing lined with Gor-Tex. Dress also for safety; be liberal in your use of blaze orange.

Pay special attention to footwear. As your health and fitness permits, you will be walking and walking and walking some more. Do not forget a pair of good, waterproof upland boots or two. Boot dryers are available at the Bunkhouse.

Finally, protect your eyes with safety glasses.
