Snow Goose Hunting.

Here at Dakota River Ranch we offer both spring and fall snow goose hunts in the northeast half of South Dakota. During the spring, the limits are now liberalized to help aid in the increase of the snow goose population. Also during the spring season we are allowed to use electronic calls, unplugged shotguns, and the hunting hours have been extended to include one half hour after sunset. The dates for the early spring season are February 14 through May 3, and the dates for the fall season are September 26 through December 20. The fall season includes all waterfowl species. You'll want to keep in mind during the fall season we also provide a package hunt.

Our guides at Dakota River Ranch are very knowledgeable and strive to achieve decoying success by providing access to some of South Dakota's best snow goose hunting. Only the best quality decoys and equipment is used. Countless hours have been spent during the fall and spring seasons scouting and hunting. Our guides scout fields daily to constantly stay one step ahead of the birds. This ensures you will be able to enjoy the best hunt possible while you are here in South Dakota. In the 10,000 acres we farm we are in the central fly zone. We also are only a few miles away from one of the largest national refuges, Sand Lake. Our location guarantees a high number of geese in the area. The number one goal at Dakota River Ranch is to provide the hunters a safe, fun, and successful hunt.

Hunt Details

All hunts are full day hunts, and will consist of 6 man hunts or less.

A 50% deposit is required at least 2 weeks prior to reserve the scheduled hunting date. This can be paid in cash, check, or credit card. Full payment is due upon arrival.

If the hunt is canceled after the season has begun, the deposit will be forfeited.

Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

If weather prevents you to travel or causes us to cancel and we are not able to reschedule, your deposit will be refunded in full.

Rates Per Person

3 Day Hunt Package $600 (Lodging included, but meals are not included. Rooms contain a full kitchen. A list of area restaurants can also be provided.)

1 Day Hunt $225 (Lodging and meals not included.)

Bird Cleaning: available upon request at a cost of $3.75 per bird.

Transportation: provided to and from the field. Transportation can also be provided to and from the airport.

Ammunition: provided if needed. (3 or 3 1/2 #2's - T)
