Drive-in Pheasant Hunting.
Dakota River Ranch is located about 14 miles northeast of Aberdeen, South Dakota. Our mailing address town is Columbia, about seven miles north, also on the James River. Columbia is on the south edge of the Sand Lake Wildlife Refuge, one of the largest waterfowl staging areas in the Dakotas.
On some highway maps the village of Tacoma Park is illustrated. That is where the headquarters are located on 127th Street (Brown County #13). GPS addicts will find DRR at 45.32.40N 98.15.31W. See Map.
Auto driving directions from the east would be six miles west of Highway #37, (the Groton to Hecla road), on 127th Street. From the west, five miles east of Aberdeen on Highway #12 to Bath, north 6 miles on 395th Avenue, and east 4 miles on 127th Street.
Fly-in Pheasant Hunting
Our hunting headquarters, Dakota River Ranch, is conveniently served by the nearby Aberdeen Regional Airport for both commercial and private aircraft. A Northwest Airlines partner, Mesaba, has four flights daily into Aberdeen, even more during the early part of the pheasant season.
Our contact for private aircraft services is the Aberdeen Flying Service operated by the Caven family, 605-225-1384. They have everything from fuel to repair and maintenance to hanger and tie down. They can meet you in your city and bring you to and from Aberdeen at 350+ mph.
We have an airport van and will meet your shuttle needs promptly.
